Tips for Using a Pressure Washer
Tips for Using a Pressure Washer
If you have never used a pressure washer before, it may seem a little bit daunting. Here are a few tips before you start:
- Wear closed-toe shoes and safety glasses. This will help protect your feet and eyes from any accidental spray and flying debris.
- Clean from top to bottom. This way you are not moving dirt onto a clean surface.
- Mind your cords. Keep an eye on the power cord and water hoses to ensure that they do not become kinked or become a tripping hazard.
- Never pressure wash from a ladder.
- Do not spray windows, lights or power lines.
- Start with the wand 12-18 inches away to avoid damage and slowly move closer if needed. For siding stay about 4 feet away to avoid damage.
- A wider spray equals faster cleaning. A tighter spray equals deeper cleaning.
